For long-term investors, recent problems involving Boeing Co.'s (BA) 787 Dreamliner are good news. A few weeks ago, a 787 test flight made an emergency landing following an onboard fire, now said by Boeing to involve "foreign debris." Whatever the problem, investors can sense more delays for a plane that is already three years behind schedule. The stock price has suffered, of course, because short-term investors want to see the planes leaving factories and taking to the skies - now.
